Two’s Company Three’s a Crowd.

Last night was the first night that my son slept in my bed ever.  It was better than staying up all night while he screamed his head off in his room. For some reason last night was a very difficult night for him.  He pointedly refused to go to bed. Finally, I gave up and let him stay awake for an hour after bedtime. Me thinking, that yes this would be a good thing, thought wrong. He continued to stay up until ten pm eastern time.  My son crashed out on the floor in his room and stayed asleep.

Every night I chat to Tim on the phone, last night was no exception. However, it was shorter than most of our usual phone calls because, it was one am, we were both exhausted, and my son was awake. I got off the phone with Tim, and put my son back to bed. Where he stayed for about twenty minutes. I thought he was sleep until he decided to barge into my room and tell me to put a shirt back on. This went on for an hour. He screamed about a bug, which I killed. I think he has superpower vision since he could see the bug in the dark. Then he wanted to use the potty, I spent twenty minutes sitting there waiting for him to pee. Nothing.  Finally, he laid down and I went back to finish what I was doing in my bedroom.  It was quality boyfriend/girlfriend time and what happens?

Oh yes, my three year old sun walked in on me doing things that people do behind closed doors. Boyfriend flew off of me and my brother who was awake was fast enough to turn the alarm off and try to get my son in bed. But we were so busted it wasn’t even funny. I mumbled so many things I can’t even remember, but I do know that my brother was laughing about everything I was saying. Boyfriend didn’t fine it to be too funny though.

I went outside to smoke for a minute and calm down. Meanwhile, my son is screaming his head off in his room. So I go back into him lay him down for the millionth time and go back to boyfriend. The only thing I say to boyfriend is hurry up. Within ten minutes, Rhys come barging back into my room. Screaming and crying, then his alarm goes off and he gets even more hysterical.

I had given up on trying to get him to go back to sleep so I grabbed his pillow and his blanket and let him sleep with me. Talk about a twitch of a child. He moves more than anyone I know.  But he fell sleep at about 3 in the morning, sandwiched between me and boyfriend.

For some reason this all felt normal to me. Having my son sleep in my room because he was upset or restless. And it was better than staying up and fighting with him to go back to sleep

Until the dreams return

Keep it real and rockin’
