The star system of the new idea

27 May

The Planets of the Lupine Star System, as promised.

Critain: The second planet of the system is a massive, lush, tropical jungle. The land masses are predominantly at the equator, leaving large ice caps at both poles. One Critainian day is approximately 29 hours, and one year as the planet revolves around the sun, takes 268 days.

There are four major cities on Critain. Corum is the capital, and the largest, Kella and Grat are the major centres of learning and Rath is the major trading centre. Between each of the cities are various towns and villages. Cities, towns and villages on Critain are usually called “herds” by the Critainian people.

Critain boasts one moon, which the Critainians have called The Great Sleep.

Presently, there are 460 Million inhabitants on Critain.

Vulpine: Vulpine is the third planet in the system. The land masses of Vulpine are far ranging, though most are in the northern hemisphere, with one large continent in the southern hemisphere. Climate is temperate, and the planet enjoys regular seasons, slipping from winter to spring to summer and autumn. As the continents are in the northern and southern hemispheres, tropical locations are a rarity. There are several mountainous regions that fade into gentle hills and meadows.

Vulpine cities, towns and villages are called “barrows”. There is one major city on each of the continents. In the north, The Barrow of the Meadow, and in the south, The Barrow of the Forest.

One day is equal to 26 hours, while one year is equal to 346 Earth days.

Vulpine is graced with four moons. Pau Theta 1, Pau Theta 2, The Great Fox and Night Eye. Pau Theta 1 has an atmosphere and is livable, but due to it’s rather barren wastes it is only used as the Maximum Security Facility for the Star Fox Command. Any criminals are sent there after found guilty through trail in the Barrow of the Meadow High Court.

Vulpine has 1.7 billion inhabitants.

Lupia: The fourth world in the system has been described as a desert planet, with very few water sources what so ever. The northern and southern regions do have polar ice caps, but much run off from melting becomes ground water.

Cities, towns and villages are called “packs” by both the Lupians and the Jackai. Of these, only The Congregation of the Great Wastes is the only permanent settlement.

Trees and foliage do grow on Lupine, mostly around lake areas and along rivers, and within the Lupian territories great agricultural communities have been formed, with much of the food grown coming from these areas.

Lupia has one moon, which is called The Hunter.
A Lupine day is equal to 20 hours, while a Lupine year is equal to 230 Earth days. Population of Lupia is roughly 960 million.

Canin: Canin is a cold world, as much of it is covered in ice and snow. The only warm areas lay long the equator. Thanks to the large ice formations, there are various large crags that cover the surface of Canin.

There are two nations on Canin, Lionid and Panthera. Lionid covers most of the southern hemisphere, while Panthera is to the north. The cities on Canin are called “prides” and none of them are very large. The largest of the cities is The Protectorate, which is home to the Panthera Military College to the north. In the south, the largest city is called the Monastery of the Soul.

Canin has three moons, called the Three Great Cats. The two largest are called the King and the Queen, while the smallest is called the Stalker. One day on Canin is equal to 48 hours. One year is equal to 730 Earth days.

Population of Canin is 150 million.

Next, the lore of the Lupine Star System.
