Nelvana of the Northern Lights, the first female comic superhero, turns 70 this August. Yes, Nelvana was published before Wonder Woman, before the Golden Age Black Widow. Her run only lasted from 1941 to 1947, but she still has her mark in history.
In 1995, Canada Post issued a stamp with her image along side other notable Canadian comic icons such as Johnny Canuck, Captain Canuck, Fleur de Lys and even Superman.
